Day 1: Airport of Punta Arenas / Puerto Natales.
Day 2: Puerto Natales to the National Park .
Day 3: Grey Lake (Patagonia).
Day 4: Toro Lake / The Milodon Cave / Puerto Natales.
Day 5: Puerto Natales / Seno Otway / Airport of Punta Arenas.
Day 1
The National Park Torres del Paine is a world biosphere reserve. With the presence of the magnificent Southern Ice Cap offers uncontaminated vegetation and a diverse wildfile.
It is located in Magallanes Region between the massif of the Andes Mountain Range and the Patagonian steppes.
From the Airport of Punta Arenas we start our drive towards Puerto Natales.
During the ride you will see bird species such as rheas, skuas, terns, oystercatchers and probably some mammals such as the pampa foxes and hares.
Our tasting and long lunch takes place at a spectacular Hacienda.
After the enjoyfull lunch we continue towards Puerto Natales for our panoramic city tour before our arrival at a spectacular lodge.
Day 2
Drive from Puerto Natales to the National Park in the morning.
We enter the Park by Laguna Amarga, where we can find beautiful flowering plants like orchids. We drive and stopp for superb photographs at Nordeskjold, Sarmiento and Pehoe lakes.
We have time for a free lunch. There are great facilities in the park. Then we continue towards Paine River, the most important in the park, afterwards we head to Sarmiento River.
In the evening we arrive at hotel, where we will enjoy a wonderfull dinner with a spectacular view of the Paine´s horns.
Day 3
After breakfast we depart towards Grey Lake where we will walk by the beach and the lenga forest and we´ll experience an unforgettable boat ride by the icebergs. (3 hours aprox.)
Lunch at free (If wheather permits it can be a picnic)
Arrival at hotel in the evening.
After refreshing we will share a great dinner and a long conversation about the extraordinary day.
Day 4
After breakfast we´ll explore the road of the park that will take us to the Toro Lake. Afterwards we will exit the park and take another road to find the Milodon Cave. An impressive natural shelter, of the mythical animal, “The Slowth”. The story goes back to 1896, when Hermann Eberhard finds preserved skin of the mammal and the adventures search begins.....
Remains of human settlemen, dated aproximately twelve thousand years ago were also found in the Cave.
About lunch time we arrive at the lodge in Puerto Natales.
Time for a free lunch.
Dinner awaits for us at the lodge in the evening.
Day 5
We leave Puerto Natales with our luggage and we head to Seno Otway where approximately thousands Magellanic Penguins return every year between October and April to breed.
There are roped walkways and lookout posts for us to see their nesting, their burrows and march to the Pacific Ocean.
During the complete day the couples share equal responsability with their new born chick. While one takes care of the little one the other dives into the cold water to fish.
After the visit we drive to Punta Arena´s airport.
We arrive in Santiago in the evening and drive to the hotel.
