The uniquecness of its architectural style, the beautiful wooden buildings, the great theatre, the bowling club, the outstanding hospital and the amazing stairs made this isolated town a great landscape for more than 15 .000 people to live and work for over 70 years.
Today Sewell is protected by the UNESCO as World Heritage and some of the former facilities were adapted to receive the visitors that want to see “the city of the stairs”. They are all greeted by the local guides, most of them once the children that were born and grew up in the town.
