We discover the historical town crossing through the main buildings of the XIX and XX centuries, including the Government Palace "La Moneda". From there, we walk to the city's main square and see Santiago's Cathedral, the old parliament building and the Spaniards established their Government Palace. We continue in our vehicle towards the area of Mapocho located by the former Train Station, today used as an important Cultural Center that amazes with its stunning copper roof. The crowded Central Market, full of colourful local fruits, vegetables, delicious spices and the endless noisy stands of fresh fish and seafood. All the Pacific Ocean’s products can be found in the restaurants that whet the apetite of everyone.
Our drive continues by the evergreen Forestal park, marvelous garden that surrounds
the french styled Fine Arts Museum. We cross the large urban bohemian area of Bellavista, and stroll by its amusing handcrafting, books, paintings and clothing stores and the great range of national and international cuisine. Then we drive to the upper part of the majestic San Cristobal hill for an incredible sweeping view of Santiago and the Andes range, always magnificent after a day´s rain.
Afterwards in the east area of Santiago we witness the modernization of the city with it’s steel and mirror-glass architecture.
Then we return to the hotel.
